"I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you can appreciate them when they are right. You believe lies so that you will learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together."

Pictures!

Here are some pictures of my kids for my my friends that have never seen them. I still haven't figured out how to do a list of pictures with descriptions below (if anyone can tell me how that would be great!). My kids always seem to have messy hair or a messy face. I know I have better pictures on film. I seem to use my SLR camera more but it is film based. My goal is to get a digital SLR this year, preferably very soon seeing that my film SLR needs to be fixed. My digital camera does pretty good but I really miss my SLR. sniff sniff.
There are a few pictures of the kids with puppies. Our dog, Sadie got pregnant and we only figured it out two or three weeks before the puppies were born, which happened to be the week we moved into Don's Parent's basement. Ha Ha! It was a major surprise since we thought we had at least a month before they were due. The first picture is of Hailey with one of the puppies either the day or day after they were born. That's how good Sadie is, she let my kids hold the puppies from day one. I had to include a picture of Sadie too, she's a big part of the family and we all love her. The daddy dog was some poodley looking thing. I was woried the puppies would be ugly but they are sooooooo cute. Kyley really loves the puppies. She is pretty nice to them for only being 20 months old and still learning to be gentle. The puppy Hailey is holding in the picture below is the one we decided to keep. Hailey named her Scooby.

Here are the girls playing the piano. I love Kyley's expression and hands in the first picture

These two pictures of Hailey were actually taken last summer in Yellowstone. We go there every summer since it is just a hop, skip and a jump from my Grandma's house.

Kyley will sit in anything! She will get a cereal bowl and try to sit in it. She has climbed into many a thing and gotten stuck! Well that is my family, other than myself and Don (we tend to hide from or delete our pictures). I'm sure I will add more as we take them.

You-oming

Something just made me think of a story and I wanted to share because it cracks me up. Last fall we spent a few different weekends in Wyoming so Don could take care of some commitments. Well Hailey just didn't understand the word Wyoming. She thought everytime we were saying Wyoming we were saying my-oming so she would refer to Wyoming as you-oming, ocasionally we would even hear daddy-oming or mommy-oming. It makes me grin and giggle everytime she says it. No matter how much you sound the word out for her or get her to say it a syllable at a time when she puts the whole word together it still came out you-oming. Heeheehee! Now almost a year later she will still pipe up with "hey mommy they just said
you-oming on tv", when we're watching the news/weather. Occasionally she will say it correct but I love the wrong way because it never fails to make me smile.

A Thought For Life

I feel like I am adding lots of posts in a short amount of time. Probably because I read others and they have so much history already, I feel like I am playing catch up. Plus I don't like seeing so little when I log in. Well...I added a quote to the top of my blog that I wish I had a zillion years ago. I really like it. I think I am going to make some sort of wall hanging with it on it and hang it in my home so that I can remember why things aren't always perfect. Thanks Lindsay, for having it on your facebook page! Who knew Marilyn Monroe was so insightful.

For Megan McEwan

Berkley probably beat Hailey on being a michevious child but Here is a recent couple hours with Hailey a couple weekends ago. This particular weekend she had the help of her cousin Brody. We are currently Living in Don's parent's basement since we sold our house and have yet to find another. We thought we had them locked in the house but they escaped through a back door. That weekend our puppies were about 7 1/2 weeks old and neither one of the kids can leave them alone. I don't remember what I was doing but all of the sudden I heard a puppy crying rather loudly. I then realized the kids were outside. I found the kids with a puppy and the hose, the puppy was in a big planter and the were using the hose to fill the planter and nearly drown the puppy. Poor puppy! A little later I realized I couldn't hear the kids again so I went in search and yet again they were outside. This time one of them had a puppy in the baby swing flying through the air and the other child was pushing a puppy up the slid with is head as he climbed the slid. Again, poor puppies! Hailey & Brody soon dissapeared again and at about the same time we heard the water outside turn on. Kristy (Brody's mom) and I went running and got to the front door as water cascaded inside and down the stairs. It was sooooo much water! Even after vacuuming as much as we could out of the carpet it still took 2 days to dry. Well I guess that was only three events but it did happen in only a couple hours, I know more happened that day but the water tops it all and erases the rest from memory. There have been days that were MUCH worse (well the water has probably been the worst individual event) but they all blur together and I can't seperate one day's events from the next.

Kyley & Water

Kyley loves water. I don't know which she likes more drinking it or playing in it. Here She is drinking the water out of our dog's dish then filling it back up out of the other dog's bucket and drinking some more. The other day there was a puddle of water in the same chairs that are in these pictures and she was on tip toe slurping the water out of the puddle. Gross! yet really quite funny. I ran to get the camra and the first one I found was the video camra, so, once I figure out how to ad a video clip to this I will add it. You can even hear the little sluuuuuuurp. She will even lay on her tummy in the bath tub after the water has drained and slurp water off the floor of the tub. I think that is worse than out of the chairs! If there is water She will drink it. Forget about the cup. Now not only will I have to worry about her drowning in streams, lakes and so on, I have to worry about her trying to drink it and ending up with giardia or some other bacteria or disease. But as long as the water is safe it sure is funny watching her.

Rock Climbing

Saturday night we all went climbing with some family. I am brand new to climbing (it was only my 2nd time) while Don and the rest of my family have been doing it for a while. I learned for the millionth time that I am very out of shape. I am not the biggest fan of heights either, but I am working on that...slowly. We had lots of fun. We are even trying to teach Hailey to climb.
