Crazy Weekend
Sorry this might be long winded but soooooo much happened that if I leave anything out the story just isn't as good, I'll post lots of pictures ass soon as they get sent to me. This past weekend we went down to southern Utah to hang out with Don's brother. The plan was to take CJ's boat out on Saturday for some water skiing and tubing. We stayed with my sister in Cedar on Friday night and met the rest of the family at Newcastle Reservoir on Saturday. It is a tiny little reservoir but we were almost the only people there. We had tons of fun playing on the boat. This was a first for both Hailey and Kyley. They both loved riding on the tube. My sister-in-law got some fun pictures that I will have to post when she emails them to me. Then came me and Don's turn to ride the tube together. This is where the real adventure starts! At one point CJ got a litte too crazy driving and the tube went flying. All I really remember is being upside down and then in the water. When I surfaced the first thing I saw was Don with a very bloody nose. As he turned towards me I realized his nose was REALLY crooked. Apparently he smashed his knee into his nose as he was flying through the air. So we left the girls with the family and headed back to Cedar City to InstaCare to have Don's nose looked at. It was definitely broken. His breathing was okay so they sent us packing with a promise to call if the radiologist thought he needed to see a specialist (they never called so we figure he will be fine). After a stop for ibuprophin for him and my already stiff neck we were headed back to the water. About half way back Don decided to get pulled over. Lead feet are a genetic disorder in his family. Don also has a suspended license. So we sat there for ever waiting for them to do whatever they do when they go back to their vehicle. Finally he came back and wanted my license to make sure I was legal to drive. While we were waiting this time another Sherriff's vehicle pulled up. We thought that was a little strange for a couple of moving violations. Well it turned out that the officer that pulled us over thought he could smell marijuana coming from our vehicle especially off Don. Insane! So they asked if they could search the vehicle. Don let them. I was annoyed because it a waste time for them to look for something that was not there and never had been. I know I answered a few questions a little more smart alecky than I probably should have which is normally Don's department. But seriously what had that officer been sniffing before he decided to smell my car. I also wonder if he really even knew what pot smelled like. So when they finally realized that there was nothing for them to find they gave Don his ticket and let me drive off. Actually I don't even think they were convinced that there was nothing to find in my car because their question after they finished looking was "if we have an officer bring a dog over will it find anything?". By the time we were finished the rest of the family was done boating and back to the house and the rest of the weekend was pretty uneventful in comparison. I seriously can't take Don anywhere without some sort of incident. Sometimes I really worry about the fact that our children share his genes. And sometimes watching him and hearing old stories about him makes me really glad that I don't have any boys, the girls take after him enough...I am not sure if I could handle a miniature version of him too.
